These are travel tips for traveling to Mexico, but they probably are relavent to any tropical climate:
1. Take an extra debit card just in case you lose your first one. Unfortunately, I know far too much about this one.
2. Book hostels in advance. If it says that all the hostels are filled, then visit them still, if you happen to be in the area. There is sometimes last minute cancellations.
3. Pack food for the flight. You can usually take food in your carry on and airplane food leaves something to be desired.
4.Dont pack so much stuff. Usually you don't need it or you can wash stuff at the hostel, or in the sink.
5.Boardshorts. I wear them everyday, and they helped to cut down the amount of stuff I travel with.
6.Bring sunscreen. It's usually overpriced.
7.I like the idea of photocopying your travel guide and bringing it with you so you can write on it, get it wet, lose it....
8.Photocopy your passport, and leave the original at the hostel or hotel.
9. Don't go to the atm sooo much. Just carry around some cash. Better to lose some cash than an atm card...hint hint. ( Refer to #1 ) .
10. Carry some plastic bags, and throw all your grimy stuff in them.
11. Be a good tourist and take lots of pictures. You'll want to show them to your friends, and have them to remember.
12. About two weeks before traveling, start eating yogurt. You'll help your stomach keep good bacteria strong, and deal with bad bacteria more readily.
13. When brushing you teeth, use bottled water to rinse. Minimize the amount of bad bacteria entering your body, or you'll spend your vacation in the bathroom.
Take care and happy travels.

Hola! So... I came for your art, which I did not find, unless you meant your writing, which I enjoyed. Also, I checked out some of your links and I really liked Alemany Farm and the Bike Kitchen - two things I've been thinking about doing for a while (fix my bike and learn about growing my own food) Thanks!
